Sizing Tips for Kids

Size by height, not age. A child's correct size is their body height in centimeters — the age column is only an average guide.
Layering allowance. If the child will wear the garment over a mid layer, size up one step for room to move.
Between sizes? Choose the larger size for a looser fit, or the smaller for a closer fit.

How to Measure

Ask a friend to measure you while you stand straight and relaxed, without shoes, wearing only close-fitting clothing.

Body Measurements

Chest / Bust. Measure straight under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest or bust. Keep the tape level and snug — not tight.
Waist. Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, at your natural waistline.
Seat. Standing with feet hip-width apart, measure around your hips at the widest part.
Arm Length. Bend the elbow slightly, then measure from the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder to the elbow, and down to the wrist.
Inner Leg Length. Stand straight and measure from the crotch down the inside of the leg to the floor.
Head. Measure around the biggest part of the head, just above the eyebrows.
Foot Length. Stand and measure from the heel to the tip of the longest toe.

Measuring Tips

Measure over an undergarment or base layer only — bulky clothing distorts the result.
Keep the tape horizontal and comfortably snug; it should not compress the body.
Take measurements in centimeters for the closest match to the charts.
Write every measurement down and compare against the table rather than guessing from your usual size.

New Fit. A refined scale with updated measurements across the range; New Fit sizes differ from Classic Fit, so always use the matching table.

Trekking trousers with technical features, made from wind and water resistant G-1000®. The model is based on our best-selling Vidda Pro Trousers but has improved ventilation options and a new, slightly slimmer fit that still has enhanced freedom of movement. The buttoned strap adjustments at the leg endings can be removed and there are numerous practical pockets and details, such as a knife pocket on the right leg and a loop for an axe on the side of the waist.

If you’re already a fan of our trousers, then you can expect to stay the same size in our Improved Fit if you wear an EU 34 through 44. EU sizes 46 and above can go down a size, depending on fit preference. If this is your first pair of trousers, check our Size Guide to find your best fit.
