Sizing Tips for Kids

Size by height, not age. A child's correct size is their body height in centimeters — the age column is only an average guide.
Layering allowance. If the child will wear the garment over a mid layer, size up one step for room to move.

How to Measure

Ask a friend to measure you while you stand straight and relaxed, without shoes, wearing only close-fitting clothing.

Body Measurements

Chest / Bust. Measure straight under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest or bust. Keep the tape level and snug — not tight.
Waist. Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, at your natural waistline.
Seat. Standing with feet hip-width apart, measure around your hips at the widest part.
Arm Length. Bend the elbow slightly, then measure from the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder to the elbow, and down to the wrist.
Inner Leg Length. Stand straight and measure from the crotch down the inside of the leg to the floor.
Head. Measure around the biggest part of the head, just above the eyebrows.
Foot Length. Stand and measure from the heel to the tip of the longest toe.

Measure over an undergarment or base layer only — bulky clothing distorts the result.
Keep the tape horizontal and comfortably snug; it should not compress the body.
Take measurements in centimeters for the closest match to the charts.
Write every measurement down and compare against the table rather than guessing from your usual size.

Outdoor jacket with many generous pockets that easily have room for the contents of a small backpack. Just like Jacket No. 68, it is designed for advanced outdoor life, all year around, but Smock No. 1 has a longer cut and a greater number of even more robust functions. The spacious hood can be adjusted so it fits the head perfectly and the visor can be folded to either provide maximum wind protection or more peripheral vision. When the hood is down it forms a high collar. Maps, first aid kits, smaller tools and other items needed for a day out in the forest can be stowed in the many spacious pockets on the chest, lower down, on the back and sleeves. The front zipper is two-way and has a protective flap and easy-grip buttons that are fastened to the garment with corded ribbon. Drawcord adjustment at the waist, an extra gusset under the arms and pre-shaped sleeves for freedom of movement. The fit is generous so there is room for reinforcement garments underneath. Smock No. 1 is made from wind and water-resistant G-1000® in recycled polyester and organic cotton, with G-1000® HeavyDuty reinforcement on the shoulders, sleeves and pockets.
